Thomas Sylvester Sample, 60, of Salem, passed away on Friday, August 13, 2021.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, August 25, 2021, 12 noon at Serenity. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Williams Memorial Park. Arrangements by Serenity Funeral Home and Cremation Service.

Thomas was a cool down to earth guy. He'd be working in the yard for hours at a time and didn't miss a beat. He'd often welcome new neighbors with cakes or pies when they finished moving in. So sad to hear of his passing because he was an all around good guy. Our deepest sympathy and condolences to his family and close friends. RIP Mr. Thomas.

My deepest sympathy for such a kind and caring person. I spoke with him a few times over the years, especially when my husband was fighting cancer. He contacted me with words of encouragement, all the way until he passed. Such a kind person! Rest peacefully..

I haven't seen Tommy since graduation but have thought of him often through the years. I remember his smile and there was always a kind word on his lips, he will be missed. Wishing his family the very best in this time of loss, condolences and best wishes.
