Valerie and John,

I'm so sorry this has happened. I remember VJ from 5th grade until graduation and what good times he and Steve had. I'm praying for you all and VJ. Know that this tragedy has hit a lot of people hard and that Vince had an impact on many people during his life.

V.J. was one of the truly great people. He was kind to everyone and loved life. I have known him since elementary school, but only came in contact with him a few times since graduation, which I painfully regret. He left behind many great memories and I will never forget him. I believe that anyone who was his friend is a better person now.

My heart is full of sorrow for the family and everyone that knew V.J. I met V.J. in high school, and our friendship continued throughout my college days. He was an awesome athlete, and I am glad that I was given the opportunity to know him. V.J. befriended so many people and touched a lot of lives. Although his life was cut short, I firmly believe that he lived his life to the fullest and did not let a single day pass him by. V.J. was a handsome young man and he had a heart to match his adorable exterior. I hope that the family can find solace in knowing that V.J. is missed by so many, and that he is watching over them now.

To V.J.'s entire family and friends, I am so sorry for your loss. V.J. went to school with my daughter, and I came to know him through sports. V.J. was a very kind, respectful, and handsome young man. He was an exceptional athlete also. I can't imagine what you're going through, so please accept this writing as my deepest sympathies.

Phillip A. Smith Sr. I am Vinces friend through David, and have many times sat with Vince and we played guitar together and he had several ideas for my percussion ideas. Sadly we never got the chance to go forward with it. Vince was a person unlike any ive ever met, and though im alot older than he, we got along like brothers. Not much to say to each other, but we felt the same about alot of things. I will remember him in a good way, and never think badly of my friend Vince. Thanks for being my friend, bro, ill think of you often, Phillip.

I met VJ in the 3rd grade at Riner elementary. He was my best friend. We both had big imaginations. I remember playing a lot of Indiana Jones and cowboys together. We butted heads over having a crush on the same girl but remained friends. Events in my life meant I had to move away from the NRV but we managed to hang out each summer for several years after that. There is no doubt that VJ was a very unique soul, and a very good natured person. Sometimes pain that won't go away turns to anger. Anger is the most unfair emotion because it really does hurt us more than those who have wronged us. I believe the best way to honor anyone's life is to make the most of what we have left. We will remeber VJ, but we all have to move forward for ourself and for him. VJ was a part of some of the best times in my life and I will never forget him. VJ is free of his struggles, he has flown away.

To the Family and Friends Of V.J.~

My heart is broken. This world just lost one of it's kindest souls. During this time I plan to reflect on the wonderful memories I was able to create with V.J. I enjoyed his smile and heart. He was beautiful. As I read all the other entries I realize how many people he touched in this world and I smile. However, like Tracie told me, nobody will ever really know the impact he truly had on all of us. I feel honored to have known him & call him my friend.

It is my hope that each of us will be able to embrace our memories, and in doing so will receive some kind of comfort.

You will be missed my friend.

Respectfully,

My thoughts and prayers are with the family at this time of great loss. I have lost contact with VJ since we graduated highschool, but I have not forgot who he was. I remember in grade school he was the only kid with an Indiana Jones hat. How cool is that. That is what I will remember about VJ that adventurous spirit about him. He was quite the athlete to. I remember the slam dunks in basketball. My heart gose out to the family and friends who where close to him at this time.

I have known V.J. since the 3rd grade when he came to Riner Elementary school. V.J was always one of the nicest people I knew, it didn't matter if you were in his "click" or not he was nice to everyone. When running in to him here and there over the years he always had a big hug and a kind word for me, he will be truly missed by everyone who knew him. My thoughts, prayers and heart are with you now John and Valerie, I am truly sorry for your loss.
