Violet Williams Obituary

Violet Estelle Williams, 82, of Roanoke, Va., went to be with the Lord on Friday, October 16, 2009. She was retired from the Wachovia Bank with 22 years of service. She is preceded in death by her parents, Taylor and Eulalia Edwards. Surviving are her husband of 64 years, Willie W. Williams; son and daughterin-law, the Rev. Warren Williams and Diane Williams; two grandchildren, Karla Williams, and Brad Williams and his wife, April; two greatgrandsons; and sisters-in-law, Dorothy Woolwine and Anna Hale. The family suggests memorials may be made to the Gentle Shepherd Hospice, 4005 Electric Road, SW, Suite 202, Roanoke, Va. 24014 and the family would like to also thank Gentle Shepherd Hospice for all their love and kindness. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. on Monday, October 19, 2009, at Oakey's North Chapel with the Rev. Thomas Dill and the Rev. Warren T. Williams officiating. Interment will be in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, October 18, 2009, at Oakey's North Chapel, 540-362-1237.
