Walter White Obituary

Walter Murrell White, 83, of Draper, Va., died early Wednesday morning, December 9, 2009, at his residence. He was born on August 24, 1926, in Draper, and was the son of the late Cecil Porter White and William Anderson White. He was retired after many years as an electrician with Radford Army Ammunition Plant; was a long-time member of the Draper Fire Department; was a member of the Draper Christian Church; and was a veteran of World War II having served in the United States Navy. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Helen Baker White; a son, William "Bill" Walter White, of Roanoke; a sister, Dorothy White Layman, of Draper; and one niece. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. on Friday, December 11, 2009, at Seagle Funeral Home with the Rev. Randy Winn officiating. Interment will follow at the Duncan Cemetery in Draper. The family will receive friends on Friday morning at Seagle Funeral Home from 10 until 11 a.m. service time.
