I love you and miss you every moment. I would give anything to just sit down together with a bowl of soupy rice and laugh. May you be surrounded by loved ones and joy. And come get me when I’m through. You will always be my touchstone.

I learned of Cathy's death from the Robesonian on line. I am so sorry. Your family was special to mine. We both go way back in CSUMC. I did not know that Cathy was sick and am so sorry to learn of her passing. You are in my thoughts. My mother lives in a retirement facility in Greensboro just 1 1/2 miles from me. Julia also lives in Greensboro. I just passed this sad news to them. Please know that all of our family will be remembering you and your family in our thoughts and prayers.
Sincerely,
Zella Cooper

Losing Cathy was devastating to our family. She told me in early December that her cancer had returned and that she had three to six months to live. She lived four weeks. Our family would like to thank Hospice, Cathy's friends, most especially Debbie Powers and Robin Johnson, for the tremendous love and care they showed us through such a difficult time. Thank you to all of Cathy's wonderful friends for the calls and cards and offers of assistance. We want you to know that Cathy loved you all very much.

We will surely miss Cathy and all the wonderful things-Huge Smile, Huge Heart, Huge Strength, that went along with her being Cathy. She was a delightful person. We valued her friendship, we valued her as a great dental patient. We share your loss and cherish her memory.

Cathy was such an inspiration to me when I joined the LRA family. She always made me laugh. I will never forget our time together and I miss her.
I know Heaven is a brighter place with her presence as her wonderful energy and brightness affected everyone around her.
Rest in peace and know you were loved by many here on earth.

We have known Cathy since high and always enjoyed seeing her or talking with her whenever we ran into her. She was always smiling and bubbly, no matter what the circumstances were. The last time I ran into her even though she was battling cancer, she still had a smile on her face. May God bless, comfort and touch all of you in the days ahead. May He give you peace that only He can give. You are in our prayers and thoughts.

Our Precious Cathy,
Buddy Bracey and Ali Bracey Harris are heart broken to let you go so soon, but we know all of our loved ones were waiting on you! You and Buddy talked only weeks ago and still laughed about the two of you at the beach! I will also always cherish our time together at the beach! I thank you for introducing me to your dear friend Georgia who is now my sister in Christ! You knew I lost my sister far to early and you became more than a sister to me! These last years at the beach and our conversations at least every two weeks have blessed my life more than words can say! We were so blessed to have you in our lives and look forward to the day that we are together again!
Love,
Buddy Bracey & Ali Bracey Harris

Cathy was such a good friend in so many ways to my Mama, Evelyn Smith and me. She was always there to lend a helping hand, provide a kind word, give great advice and encouragement, and to just be a true friend. She loved animals as much as my Mama did and she and Cathy had long visits and walks together. May God bless you, Cathy, and your family. May you rest and peace and not suffer anymore, but be free of pain and bask in God's wonderful Kingdom. You will be missed by many.

May you rest in peace Cathy. I can still remember you helping me with my homework. You will be missed greatly. That was in the early 70's when you and my brother Ben Smith were dating.....
