Chance McArthur Hunt
LUMBERTON — Mr. Chance McArthur Hunt departed this life on Oct. 2, 2014, in Cincinnati, Ohio. He was born Aug. 1, 1980, in Baltimore. Mr. Chance lived at 98 Shiloh Road.
The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday at Revels Funeral Home Chapel Lumberton, the Rev. Roderick Carter officiating. Burial will follow in the Holmes family cemetery on Rowan Road in Lumberton
He was the son of the late Tammy Lamb Chavis and Claudie Mack Hunt.
Mr. Hunt was preceded in death by his grandmother, Mary L. Morgan and grandfather, Horace Mitchell Lamb; his great-grandfather, Wallace Holmes; his uncle and aunt, Early and Ann Locklear; and cousins, Elizabeth Davis and Jerone Locklear.
He departed leaving behind to cherish his memory his daughter, Harley Hunt of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; his biological father, Ricky Emanuel of Baltimore; his "dad" Bill Holmes and wife Renee Holmes and their son, Garret; his stepfather, Ricky Chavis of Shannon; and his brother and sister, Nicky Chavis of Shannon and Ricky Chavis Jr. of Lumberton.
He was a gentle and kind-hearted man. His presence will be deeply missed by his great-grandmother, Genova Holmes (he was the apple of her eye); his grandfather, Warren Morgan Chance; uncle and aunt Winston and Arlene Lowery, aunts Jan Lamb, aunt Karen and Ronnie Locklear of Lumberton, aunt Jamie Lamb and Paul Locklear of Pembroke, uncle Horace Mitchell, II and Teresa Oxendine of Panama City Beach, Fla., aunt and uncle, Gwen and Junior Scott of Lumberton; these are all who shared in his raising. Also of the home, (dad) uncle Kenneth Carter and (momma) aunt Jill Lamb. We were blessed to be a part of your journey. He is also survived by "Who's your favorite cousin?" cousins, Nicole Lamb, Chassidy, Travis, Ricky, Desmond and Payton, Jeff, Johnna, Dino, Julina, Zsa Zsa, Nickolas, Tola, Landen, Christina, Latosha, Tanya, Dr. Katera Chavis, Jennifer and Shawanna. Their reply would be "Chance." His best friend and brother, John Hunt of Pembroke.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Revels Funeral Home Lumberton, and at other times at the home, 98 Shiloh Road in Lumberton.
