JAMES LAUGHLIN
LUMBERTON — James Robert Laughlin "Bobby", 74, of Lumberton, N.C., died on Sunday, March 5, 2017, at Southeastern Regional Medical Center.
He was born in Robeson County, N.C. on Feb. 5, 1943, to the late Marvin Edward and Annie Hammonds Laughlin. He worked with the City of Lumberton Electrical Department from May 1971 until May 2003. After retirement he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, and was avid lover of Harley's, 4-wheelers, and Mustang cars. He also was a daily patron at McDonalds.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Sue Walters Laughlin; his son, James Michael Laughlin; a brother, Marvin E. Laughlin; and a sister, Peggy Carrillo.
Mr. Laughlin is survived by his daughters, Lisa Scott (Bobby) of Laurinburg, and Susie Flynn of Florida.; a son, James Robert Laughlin Jr. of Florida.; grandchildren, Skylar Scott, Camryn Laughlin, Amber Dishong, and Jessica Pressley; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Gloria Laughlin Summerour (Gary) of Oak Island; a sister-in-law, Doris Long; special friends, Trish and Tommy Fulk, and Ruby Shook; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A time of visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 8, 2017, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory Inc., 809 E. Fifth St. in Lumberton.
The funeral will be on Thursday, March 9, 2017, at 2 p.m. at Floyd Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Brett Young officiating. Burial will follow in Walters Family Cemetery.
