Over 15 years ago i did a computer search to look for my fathers best friend in the Navy. Little did I know that I would make a wonderful friend myself. Due to my fathers age he did not stay in touch with Jerrol Because he was not very tech savvy and after being in the military did not like to travel. I however stayed in touch and want you to know how important our email exchanging was. I am very sorry for your loss and want to extend my families deepest Condolences.

I,m sorry to hear of Jerrol's passing. I saw him earlier this year, but I don't believe he knew who I was. I regret that we weren't in contact more recently.
The years I worked with Jerrol at Kimbrells and the times Tina and I visited at your home are fond memories. I will always appreciate the conversations on everything from sports, religion, politics and the many moments of laughter I shared with Jerrol. I imagine his humor is on display in Heaven and for all of eternity.
I,m reminded , "When all we have left of our friends and love ones are memories, our memories become blessings from God ." I will always thank God for my memories of Jerrol.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Elois, Jason and all of the family.

Jerrol was a wonderful man that loved the Lord with all his heart and soul. He was my nephew. My sister, Edith Lassiter Surles only son. He had five sisters that probably at times made his life a little hard growing up. I missed Jerrol in May when I went to our family reunion. I later found out he was sick, To Elois and his sisters may God be with you in this time of sorrow and grieving,

What a wonderful spirit will always remain with those of us who knew this man and knows his family. If ever there was a more genuine smile, hug, handshake, or expression of concern for other people I can't say I've experienced it. What a legacy to leave with us! Jimmy Holmes
