John Locklear
PEMBROKE — Mr. John Frank Locklear, 79, of 246 Albert Road, Pembroke, was born July 5, 1935, in Hoke County, to the late Mr. Charlie and Rosie Lee Locklear and departed this life on March 20, 2015, at Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Lumberton.
The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Bear Swamp Baptist Church, the Revs. Hedrick Jones, Dr. Timmie Chavis and Dr. Michael Cummings officiating. Burial will follow in Locklear family cemetery.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Locklear is preceded in death by his first wife, Mrs. Pearlie L. Locklear; two sons, Mr. Harbert Locklear and Mr. Herman Locklear; a step daughter, Ms. Glenda Locklear; and two grandchildren, Mr. Albert K. Locklear and Mr. Cecil D. Locklear.
Mr. Locklear leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Mrs. Doretha C. Locklear of Red Springs; five daughters, Mrs. Diane Locklear (Winford) and Mrs. Janice Locklear (Buddy) of Maxton, Mrs. Valentina Oxendine (Welton) and Mrs. Phyllis Smith (Ronald) of Pembroke and Mrs. Pauline Motrenec (Gregory) of Charlotte; two sons, Mr. Delton Locklear (Audrey) of Maxton and Mr. Dennis Locklear (Valerie) of Pembroke; three stepdaughters, Mrs. Barbara Bullard (Randolph) and Mrs. Teresa Goins (Ellis) of Pembroke and Mrs. Retha J. Locklear (Jeff) of Shannon; two stepsons, Mr. Leander Carter (Cheryl) of Shannon and Mr. David Carter of Red Springs; 17 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; 10 stepgrandchildren; 12 step great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
The visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Thompson's Funeral Home
