Patsy Powers
LUMBERTON — Patsy Blanton Powers, 64, passed away July 10, 2016.
She was born in Robeson County on July 29, 1951, to Davis and Lollie Blanton. Mrs. Powers was the first female officer for the Lumberton Police Department and served for 17 years. She initiated the DARE program of Robeson County and was also a member of the NC State Bureau of Investigation. She will also be remembered for her service with the Fair Bluff Post Office for 30 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her husband, Ronnie Britt of the home; a son, Davis "DJ" Powers of Lumberton; two sisters, Nancy Milligan and husband Joe of Chesapeake, Va., and Wanda Mercer of Holden Beach; and two grandchildren, Chasity Powers and Chloe Powers.
The visitation will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory Inc.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Antioch Baptist Church, the Rev. Mark Meadows officiating. Burial will follow at New Hollywood Cemetery.

I remember how often Patsy stopped by to see and check on my Mom and Dad, Dewey and Frances Blanton. Always thoughtful and kind and they adored her and her visits. She will be missed.
