ROBERT JAMES BLACKMON
FAYETTEVILLE — Robert James Blackman, 73, of Fayetteville, passed away at home on Sunday, Dec. 13, 2020, with his family by his side.
He was preceded in death by his father, Donavan Wilson Blackman; mother, Mae Murray Blackman; and sister, Patricia "Pat" Blackman (Sherry).
He was a member of Cumberland Union Baptist Church, worked with Goodyear (Kelly Springfield) and enjoyed farming, fishing and playing cards.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Judith Tart "Judy" Blackman; three sons, Donovan Blackman, Robert James Blackman Jr. (Cindy), and Harvey Blackman (Amy); grandchildren, Monica, Megan (Trevor), Tracie Faircloth (Clifton), Henry, and Philip; great-grandchild, Dawson; a brother, John Blackman (Susan); three sisters, Susan Blackman Wynne (Robert), Jean Blackman Gales (John), and Joan Blackman (Ronnie); and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Donovan Blackman, Harvey Blackman, Brandon Blackman, Jackie Blackman, Patrick Gales and Clifton Faircloth
A private graveside service will be held, and family will receive visitors at the residence following the service.
Memorials may be made to Cumberland Union Baptist Church, 6957 Tabor Church Road, Fayetteville, N.C. 28312 or a charity of your choice.
