William Clyde "Buddy" Arnette Jr.
ST. PAULS — William Clyde "Buddy" Arnette Jr., 75, of St. Pauls, N.C., went to be with the Lord on Aug. 10, 2016, at Southeastern Hospice House in Lumberton, N.C.
Buddy served for four years in the United States Army following his graduation from St. Pauls High School in 1960. He also worked for many years as a machinist in the textile industry in Sanford, N.C. He was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of St. Pauls and a member of the Men's Sunday School Class and Brotherhood.
His homegoing celebration will be a graveside service with full military honors at Oakridge Cemetery on Sunday at 1:30 p.m. in the afternoon; visitation with the family will follow from 2:15 to 3:15 p.m. at Saint Pauls Funeral Home.
Buddy is survived by his son, Joey Lacayo, of Sanford, N.C.; a son-in-law, Allan Cole of Mt. Holly, N.C.; and three sisters, Betty Tart of St. Pauls, Dorothy Moore of Asheboro, N.C., and Evelyn Walters and husband Neil of St. Pauls. He was the proud PawPaw of seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Also surviving him are his best friend, Bobby Riddle, and wife Debbie.
He was preceded in death by his parents, W.C. Arnette Sr. and Velna Hall Arnette; and a brother, Wilbur Nash Arnette.
The family will receive friends at the home of Neil and Evelyn Walters at 117 Jasons Place Road, St. Pauls.
