Catherine J. Grogg, 73, Rochester, passed away at 12:23 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 17, 2024, at Peabody Retirement Community, North Manchester.
She was born on Sept. 20, 1950, in Rochester, the daughter of Lawrence and Jean (Emmons) Brown. On July 4, 1995, in Rochester, she married Douglas D. Grogg, and he survives.
Catherine graduated from Rochester High School and attended Bowling Green State University. She started her professional career working at First National Bank and retired from Smith, Sawyer & Smith Insurance after 27 years of service.
In her leisure time she enjoyed gardening, reading, outings of lunch and shopping with her family and volunteering at the animal shelter.
Survivors include her husband, Douglas Grogg, Rochester; daughter, Karrie Moore, Cape Coral, Fla.; stepdaughter, Tonya (Gary) Jenkins, Milford; step-grandchildren, Dane Jenkins and Danielle Jenkins, Milford; sister, Susan Brown and husband Peter Van Dae, Rochester; niece, Amy (Brian) Severns, Rochester; nephew, Michael (Tiffany) Brown, Atlanta, Ga.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Private services will be observed. Memorials may be made to the Lawrence and Jean Brown Family Scholarship Fund through the Northern Indiana Community Foundation, 227 E. Ninth St., Rochester, Indiana.
