John Slaybaugh Obituary

John F. Slaybaugh, Sr., 78, of Tippecanoe, passed away on Tuesday, April 15, 2025 in his home.

John was born to Joseph and Alice M. (Cook) Slaybaugh Oct. 10, 1946 in Hammond. He joined the United States Army and served as a mechanic. He married Barbara Knapp and she preceded him in death. He worked as a laborer in construction. He loved his tractors, tinkering on tractors, machine work, and shooting.

John will be dearly missed by his son Jay (Tonya) Slaybaugh of Logansport; his daughter Dawn (Cody) Edwards of Tippecanoe; his sisters SueKay Slaybaugh of Monticello, Sherry Slaybaugh of Florida; his brothers Donald Slaybaugh of Monticello, Richard Slaybaugh of Talma, Ed Slaybaugh of Earl Park; and his 5 grandchildren.

John was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Alice Slaybaugh, his wife Barbara Slaybaugh, his son John Slaybaugh, Jr., his sister Tammy Slaybaugh and his brother Rodney Slaybaugh.

Service will be held today, Saturday, April 19, 2025, at 3 p.m. at Alvin and Martha Graber family residence, 2607 E. Macy-Gilead Road, Macy, followed by a meal provided by the Grabers.
