Ruby M. Reed, 84, Peru, and formerly of the Fulton area, passed away at 1:05 p.m. Monday, June 14, 2021, at Miller's Merry Manor, Peru.
She was born Nov. 6, 1936, in Flora, the daughter of Robert and Violet (Hunnicut) Simmons. On July 26, 1979, in Nashville, Tenn., she married Don Dale Reed. He preceded her in death on July 10, 2015.
Ruby had been a homemaker. She had been active over the years with Fulton County 4-H, having worked at the county fair for many years. She enjoyed sewing, crafts and cooking.
Survivors include her children, Deanna Gibson, Louisiana, Rita Lynn Brown, Indianapolis, William Brown, Mexico, Phyllis Jean Brown, Sheridan, Gary Lee Brown, Kempner, Texas, and Rhonda Coby, Peru; 13 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; sister Roberta Evans, Madison, Wisc. She was preceded in death by her parents, son, Wayne Lee Brown, and brother, Robert Simmons Jr.
Funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, June 18, 2021, at Zimmerman Bros. Funeral Home, Fulton. Friends may visit one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in the Fulton Cemetery. Online condolences may be expressed at www.zimmermanbrosfh.com.
