As Joann's sister, I am the second in line of 10 children and have many memories of my childhood.Even though we were poor I don't remember being unhappy, not even at Christmas. One of my fondest memories is the Christmas my oldest brother, Johnny, got a bicycle.
Joann was always the same; never arguing or fussing, wanting everyone to get along. She always dealt with whatever came her way without complaining or asking "Why me?" She lived with my family for a while before she and Bill married. At that time, we had a poodle, Beebee, that had lost her sight to cataracts. Beebee was always trying to bury food or bones. So many times, Joann would find a roll in her houseshoes or a chicken bone under her pillow. She just laughed about it.
Even though, I am second in line and Joann was seventh, she taught me so much and I will forever miss her. If each of us could take a small piece of the influence Joann had on our lives, we would be a better person. Bill, Holly, Brian, Eric, Kendyl and Laura, anthing I can do, don't hesitate to call. I love you all.

I have so many memories of my aunt, Joann. She was such a giving person. I remember one year when Angel,my daughter, was much younger, Joann made a new jacket for Angel's much loved Pooh bear and wrapped it as a gift from Santa. My daughter was so excited that Santa remembered Pooh. That's just a small example of how giving she was.
As so often happens, life gets in the way and I didn't get to see Joann and her family as often as I would have liked. But I will always remember, and miss, her laugh. I always liked how it seemed to pop out of her.

As a sister in law, JoAnn was the best. She was truly a wonderful person, inside and out. She was a wonderful wife, Mother, and grandmother, daughter, and sister. She will certainly be missed by everyone that ever knew her. A tremendous loss. My sympathy to the whole family.

I've met Joann several times, but didn't know her personally. I have heard so many good things about her over the years, and I do know she was a good and kind lady. I'm so sorry for your loss and will keep the family in my prayers.
