Joanna Andersen Obituary

Johanna "Jo" Andersen, 90, of Lewistown, went home to be with the Lord, on Tuesday, October 21, 2025. Johanna Jean Chapline was born August 7, 1935, to Joseph and Faye (Dennis) Chapline in Sheridan, Wyoming. She began her schooling there, and attended until her 8th grade year. In 1949, she moved to Miles City, Montana, with her mom and stepfather. She attended four years of high school at Custer County High School, graduating in 1953. She attended the local community college for two years and received her Associate's Degree in 1955. In 1956, she married Pat McGuire, and two children were born from that union, Patrick and Joseph. They later divorced. She then married Bob Andersen in 1993, and they lived in Glendive for twenty years. Bob passed away in 2013.

Johanna loved quilting and playing bridge. She was an active member of her church, St. Paul Lutheran.

Johanna was preceded in death by her parents, stepfather, husband Bob, stepson Dan, three brothers, and one sister. She is survived by her sons, Patrick McGuire of Reno, NV, and Joseph McGuire of Tacoma, WA, and stepdaughter Cindy Andersen Monroy of Billings, Goddaughter Samantha Mallo of Lewistown, and two grandsons.

Funeral Services will be Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at 1:00 pm at the St. Paul Lutheran Church with internment to follow at the Lewistown City Cemetery. Pastor Mark Wiegert is officiating.
