Mr. Stokes was an icon and a quiet giant in the community. He was a caring person and just plain nice-that's why his busisness prospered over the years. He had money but money didn't have him. This man knew how to make "little people" feel like somebody special. God threw away the mold when he made this one. To the family,look up knowing that God does everything well.

The promises of God: At the end of this journey waits a festive table filled with blessings and prayers that you prayed and had forgotten. Have our fill of these blessings! Divide them among my prodigy to the fourth and fifth generation. For along the way, I have eaten of bread you know not of. I am full. Tired from my journey, Jesus bids me to rest and extends His hand with an invitation.
I’ll gladly accept and sit on the porch of the Kingdom to recap my travels and realize that this journey was just as important as the destination.

My prayer are with you all at this time. I know that I am just one of the lost that Mr. Stoke helped out. When I was 12 yrs old and we had just moved to Rocky Mount, My father passed away 3 days later and Mr. Stoke took care of him for us. Mr. Stokes will be greatly missed. The City of Rocky Mount along with country area have lost a great man. God be with you all.
