Gary Skelton Obituary
ROCKY MOUNT - Gary and Jackie Skelton went to be with their heavenly Father on Wednesday, September 5, 2018.
Both are originally from Alabama where their families reside. Gary worked for BB&T Bank until retirement and was Mayor of Leggett, NC. Jackie was an oncology nurse at Vidant Hospital in Tarboro. They were members of Englewood Baptist Church in Rocky Mount. They are survived by three sons, six grandchildren, and various friends and family.
A Celebration of Their Lives will be held Tuesday night, September 11, at 7 PM at Englewood Baptist Church, 1350 S. Winstead Ave., Rocky Mount.
A funeral and burial will be in Alabama on Friday. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Samaritan's Purse.

My heart breaks whenever I think of both of you being gone from this earth. Even though I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that you are celebrating your home going with Jesus, you will be missed by so many, especially your sons, daughters-in-law, and grandchildren, family and friends. I am heartbroken for those who must continue without this wonderful Christian couple. They truly made a difference in the lives they touched. Thanks to your family and Almighty God for sharing Gary and Jackie with us. They are together and rejoicing in the presence of Jesus.
