Herbert Aaron Moss Spring Hope - Herbert Aaron Moss, age 82, passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home Sunday morning, February 8, 2026. He was born in Nash County on April 2, 1943. He was the son of the late Aaron Olif Moss, Lucy Taylor Moss, and Lettie Joyner. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Pat; and brothers, Adie Taylor and Vernon Taylor.

Having served honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam era, Herbert was a proud veteran and patriot who loved God, his family, and his country.

He will be greatly missed by his children, Jamie Moss (Olivia), Melinda Tyson, Ashley Bottoms (BJ), Nicholas Moss, and Kevin Moss, all of Spring Hope; brothers, Cornelius Joyner, Barthell "Bart" Joyner, and Malory Joyner. He also leaves his grandchildren, Jarrett Moss, Aubree Moss, Grayson Moss, Shanna Brannan, Storm Tyson, Kalib Ezzell, Logan Bottoms; along with many nieces, nephews, family friends, and a sweet pup named Clyde.

A memorial service to remember Herbert and pay tribute to his memory and military service will be held at 12:00 pm, Friday, February 13, 2026 at Davis-Little Funerals, 2129 Lawrence Circle, Rocky Mount. The family will greet friends prior to the service, beginning at 11:00 am.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the UNC Cancer Center, 2460 Curtis Ellis Dr., Rocky Mount, NC 27804, are greatly appreciated.
