Mary Sylvia Delbridge

WILSON - Mary Sylvia Delbridge, 69, died Tuesday, August 1, 2006. She was born in Nash County, June 19, 1937, daughter of the late John Ed Delbridge and Mattie Helen Drake Delbridge. She was born and reared in Castalia and an active member of Castalia Baptist Church until her move to the retirement home in Wilson, and she was a avid reader. She leaves to cherish her memory, brother, John Clifton Delbridge of Goldsboro; cousins, Virginia Drake Brown of Raleigh, Thomas Clifton Drake Jr. of Charlotte, Tommy Manning of Carolina Beach, Enid Drake of Louisburg, Nene Leonard of Castalia; uncle, Watson Manning of Carolina Beach; numerous other cousins. A gathering to celebrate her life will be held 1 p.m. Friday, August 4, 2006, at Forest Hills Baptist Church in Wilson, N.C., with Rev. Ray Barnhill officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery, Nashville, N.C.
