Betty King Obituary
Betty was born in Cherokee County, Georgia on December 13, 1937, daughter of the late Henry E. Johnson and Lillie Mae Johnson (formerly Coursey). In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband, J.W. King; her son, Jonthan Wayne "Johnny" King; four brothers, Hubert Johnson, Freddie Johnson, Joe Johnson, and Jimmy Johnson; and her sister, Alice Haywood. She was employed as a nurse at Floyd Medical Center in the ICU for many years and was a member of Enon Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughter Melinda Faye Bagley and her devoted husband Pat; her beloved grandson, Cody Tristan King; her sister-in-law, Peggy Johnson; her good friend Sarah Wright and her husband Ranford; her loyal canine companion and "best girl in the world," Baby; as well as numerous cousins, and extended family members.
According to Betty's wishes, she will be cremated. At the request of the King family there will be no formal services.
Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, is honored to serve the family of Betty Jean King.
