Edwin Lee Wilson Sr.

Mr. Edwin Lee Wilson, Sr., age 84, of Rome, GA, passed away on Thursday, October 27, 2022, at a local hospital.

Mr. Wilson was born on December 17, 1937, in Chattanooga, Tennessee, son of the late Arthur Wilson and the late Audrey Jones Wilson. He graduated from Vanderbilt University with a degree in Science and Engineering. Mr. Wilson retired from Georgia Pacific where he was Vice-President of Environmental Engineering. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. Mr. Wilson loved hiking, camping and Ford Mustangs. He was an Eagle Scout and a Sea Scout and was a volunteer with the Boy Scouts of Northwest Georgia. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Betty Jean Griffin Wilson.

He is survived by his children, Sharon Lee Kubichek (Bob), Laramie, WY, Susan Beth Wilson, Athens, GA, Sandra Kaye Hutto (Mark), Peachtree Corners, GA, and Edwin L. Wilson, Jr. (Matthew Killion), Athens, GA; his grandchildren, Shawn T. Kubichek and David E. Kubichek; his sisters, Elizabeth Fort and Amy Voltz, Hendersonville, TN; and several nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 5, 2022, at 2:00pm at Trinity United Methodist Church with the Rev. Nanci Hicks officiating. A reception will be held immediately following the service.
