Jackson Shaw Obituary

Mr. Jackson Davis Shaw, age 22, of Rome, GA, passed away on May 24, 2025.

Jackson was born on August 8, 2002, in Rome, GA, son of Alice and Jeff Herring, and the late David Shaw. He was also preceded in death by his grandparents, Joe and Joan Gittings and Dwain and Joan Herring; his uncles, Joe Gittings and Greg Herring; and his cousin, Jim Agurkis.

Survivors include his parents, Alice and Jeff Herring; his brother, Carson Shaw; his aunts and uncles, Paula and Ron Stone, Mars Hill, NC, Diane and Bob Agurkis, Lincolnton, GA, Jessica and Jim McCann, Franklin, TN; his first cousins, Andrea Price (Chad), Charleston, SC, Michael Agurkis (Sarah), Marietta, GA, Jack McCann, Franklin, TN, Mark McCann, Nashville, TN, and Jimbo McCann (Jamie), Los Angeles, CA; many other cousins and friends.

Jackson went to West End, graduated from Rome High School in 2020 and attended Kennesaw State. At the time of his passing, Jackson was employed by Falcon Moving in Atlanta. He was never afraid of hard work and was also enrolled in a program to get his Personal Trainer Certificate. Training in the gym was a passion for Jackson and he had recently run up both Kennesaw Mountain and Mount Berry to the House of Dreams. The family home at Lake Martin held a special place in his heart, particularly the thrill of back diving off 60' high Chimney Rock.

Jackson loved his friends from childhood, even if they were not in constant contact. He had developed a special bond with his "brotherhood" from Bridges and was thankful for the guidance that they, Roscoe, and the rest of staff provided.

Words can never express who and what our Jackson was. He loved God and he loved his family and his extended family. Jackson was a sweet, kind and giving soul with a smile, loving eyes and irresistible dimples that the girls and his aunts just loved. He always looked up to his big brother, Carson, and knew the unconditional love that he had from him, his mom and his dad. We know he has joined his previously deceased family members in Heaven and will join them in looking after the rest of us. Rest in Peace, Jackson, we love you.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, June 1, 2025, at 2:00pm, in the chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, Oaknoll Chapel, with Brandon Scarboro speaking and Pastor Matt Duvall officiating. In accordance with his wishes, Jackson will be cremated.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 1, 2025, at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, Oaknoll Chapel, from 12:00 noon until the hour of service.
