Jimmy Walker Carroll

1932 - 2025

Mr. Jimmy Walker Carroll, age 93, of Rome, passed away on Monday, December 22. 2025, at a local healthcare facility.

Mr. Carroll was born in Bartow County, Georgia on October 5, 1932, son of the late Tom Carroll and the late Pauline Kell Carroll. He was also preceded in death by nine siblings, Alvin, Johnny, Doyl, Paul, Truman, Joe, Vera, Carolyn, and Linda. Mr. Carroll was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a talented athlete playing multiple sports while he attended West Georgia College then later graduated from Jacksonville State University, where he played Baseball, with a Bachelor's Degree in Science & Chemistry. Prior to retirement, Mr. Carroll worked for the City of Rome Water & Sewer Department for over 30 years. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church where he had formerly served as a Deacon. Mr. Carroll was a member of the Cattleman's Association and was a Master with 4-H. In addition to his athletic abilities, he was also an avid hunter and fisherman.

Survivors include his loving wife of 66 years, Myra Lynn Langley Carroll; three children, Beth Cochran (Mark), Aaron Walker Carroll (Melissa), and Lisa Walker (Clay); six grandchildren, Cody Holloway (Jessica), Caleb Holloway (Amber), Drew Carroll (Kady), Lauren Everett (Casey), Josey Walker, and Elijah Walker; four great grandchildren, Wilder Holloway, Waylon Holloway, Harper Grace Carroll, and Hudson Walker Carroll; several nieces and nephews.

Graveside funeral services will be held on Friday, December 26, 2025, at 1:30pm at Oaknoll Memorial Gardens. Pastor Gary Graves will officiate.

The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, Oaknoll Chapel, on Friday from 12 until 1pm.

Pallbearers are asked to assemble at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, Oaknoll Chapel, on Friday at 12:30pm and include his grandsons and Mark Mathis.
