One night after North Georgia Church of God Prayer Conference I went to Waffle House by myself and had a nice meal. When I got up the counter to pay, the waitress said your bill has been paid. I looked around the restaurant and John was giving me the thumbs up, that he´d bought my meal. I never forgot it. Each time after that, if I saw him, I would say we need another Waffle House Meeting. He always spoke and had a positive word to me every time we saw one another. Going miss him. Sending prayers to to family.

I was shocked and saddened to hear of John's passing however I know he has arrived at his final destination. He loved the Lord, his family and his church. I had the privilege of working with him for three years before I began pastoring it was an honor to do so. John was a people person that's why he was so successful as a Pastor. I will always remember the great times of fellowship we had together. Until we meet again my friend. May God's Grace and Mercy cover the family during this difficult time.

I didn’t know Mr. Moates very well, I was his IHOP server quite a few times. I waited on him the morning that he passed, that morning he was filled with as much light as he ever was, every chance he had to make a joke, he took. I know that he was proud of his family as he would show me pictures and then crack a joke about how much taller he was than his wife. he was proud to serve God, as that was one of the first things he had spoke to me about. may God bless his friends and family as they grief his loss.
