Michael Curtis Gaddy M.D.

1947 - 2026

Dr. Michael Gaddy, age 78, passed away in hospice Tuesday, January 27, 2026 in Columbus, Georgia. Michael was born in Jacksonville, Florida May 29, 1947. He is preceded in death by his son, Nathan, his parents James Wesley Gaddy and former spouse Helen Crews. Surviving Michael are his son, Marshall and his wife Ginger; his former wife, Norma; his brothers and their wives, Chris and Beverly Gaddy, Neal and Karen Gaddy. Gloria Springfield, Louis Ross, Estela Ross, Paul Ross and family and Paul Jiminez are extended family. He always valued and loved family. Michael was proud of his educational accomplishments which included a BA in English and Master of Rehabilitation Counseling, University of Florida, Gainesville, FL. This was followed by an MD from Medical College of Georgia, Augusta, GA and induction into Alpha Omega Alpha. He did residencies in General Surgery and Emergency Medicine at Eastern Virginia Graduate School of Medicine. While on the EVMS faculty and practicing general surgery, he passed his Critical Care/Surgical Trauma Boards. He was also boarded in General Surgery and Emergency Medicine when he moved to Rome, GA to work at Redmond Regional Hospital and later Polk General in the Emergency Department as an emergency physician.

Fine dining, travel, listening to jazz, making wine and reading were favorite activities.
