Richard Aycock Obituary

Mr. Richard Michael "Mike" Aycock, age 80, of Rome, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 14, 2025.

Mike was born in Rome, Georgia on December 30, 1944, son of the late Richard Marshall Aycock, and the late Sarah Ezma Touchstone Aycock. He was also preceded in death by his sister Marie Aycock Cross.

Mike served our country in the United States Marine Corps serving during the Vietnam War. Prior to retirement, he was an engineer for AT&T and Lucent Technologies. He was a member of Floyd Springs Baptist Church. Mike had a deep love for his family, travel, knowledge, and adventure. He was a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend; he will be missed by all of his family and friends.

Survivors include his brothers, Barry and Tommy Aycock; sister, Donna Brown; daughters, Rebekah Tilton and Susan Wade (Joe); grandchildren, Bella Aycock, Judson, Joseph, Jacob, and Ally Wade, Cesely Braxton; great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at 2:00pm at Floyd Springs Baptist Church, with Pastor Billy Carver officiating. Interment will follow in Floyd Springs Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rome American Legion Honor Guard presenting full military honors.

The family will receive friends at Floyd Springs Baptist Church on Saturday from 12:00pm until 1:45pm.

Donations may be made to Gideons International, the Wounded Warrior Project, or a charity of your choice.
