Agnes Birmingham Obituary

Agnes A. Birmingham passed away on October 9, 2024 at The Cottages at Garden Grove, Cicero, NY, after a five year long journey with dementia.

She was born on December 17, 1942, in Rome, NY, to the late John and Anna Bajek. Agnes attended grade school at the one room school house, Town of Vienna. She graduated from Camden High School in 1961. On May 17, 1963, she married her high school sweetheart, Ray Birmingham, at St. John's Church, North Bay, NY; a marriage that lasted 51 years until his passing on December 12, 2014. Agnes was a dedicated employee of the Farnsworth Envelope Company, for more than 30 years, and retired from Cathedral Corporation in 2005. Her work ethic was exceptional, always working overtime if needed.

Agnes found joy in life's simple pleasures: attending church, cooking, reading books and bowling on a league at the Camden Bowling Alley. She had a flair for fashion and relished the thrill of shopping for the perfect outfit. Her love for her family was exceptional and she often expressed this through preparing family Sunday dinners and hosting numerous holidays. Her greatest affection was for her five grandchildren, enjoying any time she could spend with them, and attending their activities. She took so much pride in all their accomplishments. One of her favorite past times was watching a NASCAR race.

Agnes devoted many years caring for her beloved husband, Ray, who suffered with Parkinson's Disease.

She is predeceased by her parents, John and Anna Bajek; mother and father-in-law, Pat and Ray Birmingham; brother, Paul Bajek; sister-in-law, Sue Bajek; and nephew, John (JP) Bajek.

Agnes leaves two daughters, Karen and Bob Isensee and Pam and Rob O'Rourke; one son, Paul and Melaine Birmingham; and five grandchildren, Stephanie and Nick Isensee, Brian, Collin and Mcailin O'Rourke. She is also survived by one brother, Richard Bajek; sister-in-law, Patti and Rob Sergott; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family would like to thank the employees and residents at The Cottages at Garden Grove in Cicero, NY, for their care and kindness.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Thursday, October 17, 2024 from St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, 35 Third St., Camden. Interment will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Camden.

Arrangements are in care of LaRobardiere Funeral Home, 109 Main St., Camden.
