Angelo Vinci Obituary

Angelo J. Vinci, 84, of Rome, passed away on Wednesday, December 25, 2024 at Rome Health with his loving family by his side. Angelo was born on October 5, 1940, in Rome to Joseph and Concepta (Sarah) Vinci. Angelo was married September 9, 1961 to the love of his life Josephine Ortolano in St. John the Baptist Church, a blessed union of 63 years. He worked at Vinci's Restaurant, Tri-Valley Beverage, and the City of Rome. He loved the Yankees and all sports. His favorite times were spent watching his grandchildren grow and play sports and to cheer them on. He loved many trips to Myrtle Beach and Reno, and especially spending time with family, friends, and coffee buddies. He was a long-time member of St. John the Baptist Church. Angelo is survived by his wife Josephine; daughters Lisa (Joe) Mazzaferro, Angela (Robert) Scherer, Maria (Bill) Tallarino; grandchildren Jennifer Mazzaferro (Andre), Joe ( Holly) Mazzaferro, William Tallarino, Michael Tallarino, and Lauren Scherer; six great-grandchildren; his loving brother Carl and Gertrude Vinci, Aunt Paula, Uncle Henry, Mary Comella, Betty and Raymond Serway, Joe and Sue Ortolano; many nieces and nephews, cousins and friends, and longtime friends Frank DeCosty and Donnie Colasanti. He was predeceased by his parents, in-laws, and brother Bill Vinci. Lisa, Angela, and Maria want to thank Mom for her endless devotion and care she gave our dad. Funeral Services will be celebrated with a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, January 3, 2025 at 12pm at St. John the Baptist Church, 210 E. Dominick St., with the Rev Paul F. Angelicchio as celebrant. Calling hours will be from 11am - 12pm prior to the mass. Please omit flowers. Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to the Bottini Funeral Home, 120 W. I am so sorry for the loss of Angelo. Worked with him at L&M Wholesale from 1982 until his retirement when it was Tri-Valley Beverage. He will be sadly missed.
