Anne Pike Obituary
Anne was born in Shelburne Falls, MA in 1939, the daughter of Mildred and Donald Parks and graduated from Arms Academy. Shortley thereafter, Anne married her true love, Sherman T. Pike Jr. Together they moved to Carswell AFB Fort Worth, TX and began their life together. When Sherman ended his active-duty career, the family relocated to Rome, NY.
Anne was an accomplished self-employed seamstress and made many prom gowns, bridal gowns and bridesmaid dresses. When not working, Anne was active in the Lake Delta Yacht Club, Griffiss Ski Club, winters in Florida and the gourmet dining club and served her community through the Rome Twigs where she managed the hospital gift shop for many years. She loved to entertain at their Delta Ave home and enjoyed planning and preparing special meals for family and friends.
Anne was predeceased by her parents and husband, Sherman Pike. She is survived by two brothers, Robert Parks (Barbara) and Harold "Skip" Parks and a sister in-law Betty Parks. Anne is also survived by three sons, James (Mary) of Rome, Steven (Liz) of Littleton, CO and Robert (Beth) of Selkirk, NY, along with six grandchildren Sara Cronin, Kristen Pike Kornsuwan (Natee), Matthew, Ryan Clarie and James (Maxine) and three great grandchildren Gabriel, Hunter and Alexander, along with several nieces and nephews.
Private arrangements at Evergreen Cemetery, Town of Lee.
Arrangement entrusted to Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street, Rome.
