Anthony W. "Tony" Scalise

1951 - 2025

Anthony "Tony" W. Scalise, age 74, of Whitesboro, passed away peacefully at home on November 16, 2025, after a battle with Colorectal cancer.

Born in Rome, New York, on July 27, 1951, Tony Scalise was the beloved son of John and Marilyn Hoyt Scalise. A proud retiree of the CNY DSO, where he served as a Developmental Assistant 1, Tony was known for his versatility and generous spirit-a true jack of all trades.

Tony found joy in the simple pleasures: meticulously caring for his lawn and landscaping, crafting model cars with precision, and cooking meals that brought people together. His love of travel took him to cherished destinations like St. Martin, Cape Cod, and Ireland, always in the company of friends and family.

A natural conversationalist and people person, Tony lit up every room he entered. The Carmella Room became a hub of laughter and storytelling, where memories were made and legends-like the infamous pig squeal-were born.

As a self-proclaimed food connoisseur, Tony was a regular at Kitlas and Michael T's, sharing meals and moments with his devoted partner, William "Bill" Martin. Their bond was a testament to love, companionship, and shared joy.

Tony is survived by his partner, Bill; his mother, Marilyn; his sister, Donna (Russell) Burch; his brother, Jack Scalise; his brother-in-law, Dwayne Mullen; several nieces and nephews; and many special people too numerous to mention. He was predeceased by his father; his sister, Marilyn Mullen; and his cat, Mr. Binx.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, November 21, at St. John's Church, at 11 AM. Tony's family will receive visitors after the mass.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care and/or The Joseph Michael Chubbuck Foundation.
