Barbara Ballard Obituary
Barbara "Bobbie" (White) Ballard passed away peacefully on November 16, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on April 18, 1943, in Ossining, New York, Bobbie graduated from Ossining High School in 1961 and went on to earn a degree in Elementary Education from SUNY Oswego. She dedicated her early career to nurturing young minds-teaching elementary school and later founding and operating Jack & Jill Nursery School in Rome, NY.
While at college, Bobbie met the love of her life, Gary Ballard. They married on July 30, 1966, and shared nearly 60 joyful years together. A plaque in their home read, "Happiness is being married to your best friend"-a sentiment that perfectly captured their bond.
In 1987, the Ballard family relocated to Liverpool, NY. Bobbie transitioned from education to customer service, joining Will & Baumer Candle Company. Her warmth and professionalism quickly earned her a full-time role and a promotion to Customer Service Manager within months. When Gary later joined the company, they worked side by side until their move to The Villages, Florida, in July 2005. So valued was Bobbie's presence that she continued working remotely until her retirement.
In The Villages, Bobbie and Gary embraced an active lifestyle, making many dear friends and enjoying golf, card games, and community gatherings. Bobbie especially loved playing cards and the camaraderie that came with it.
Bobbie remained in good health until the onset of dementia in 2016. Even as the illness progressed, she and Gary continued to travel, visit loved ones, and savor life's moments together.
Bobbie lived a life of purpose, kindness, and quiet strength. She left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her, and the memories she created are cherished and joyful.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Gary Ballard; her sister, Carol White; her children, Jacquie (Rob) Fisher, Missy (John) Pouliot, and Aaron (Tina) Ballard; and her grandchildren, Taber (Tippy Morrow) Fisher, Brianna Ballard, and Maddy Fisher. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jacob and Josephine White.
In accordance with the family's wishes, there will be no formal services. Those who wish to honor her memory may consider a donation their local Hospice Center.
