Barbara A. Barber

Barbara A. Barber, 73, of Rome, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at Wynn Hospital. She was born in Rome on October 28, 1952, a daughter of the late Joseph and Joan (Strong) Guelfi. She was a 1971 graduate of Rome Catholic High and on September 18, 1971, she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Ronald Barber. Together they shared a wonderful union of 54 years.

Barb worked at Sears and Roebuck, Jervis Public Library, and most recently for RCIL, where she was a life skills trainer. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Church.

Barb was a devoted and active member of the RFA Touchdown Club for many years and dedicated volunteer with the American Heart Association. She loved to cook-especially for her family and during the holidays-and found her greatest joy in her boys and her grandchildren. Barb's home was always open, and she cherished having her kids' friends gather there, creating a warm, welcoming place filled with laughter, food, and lifelong memories.

Surviving besides her loving husband, Ron, are three sons, R.J. Barber, Joshua Barber (Jamie), and Aaron Barber (Kari); three sisters, Mary Jo Fiorini, Nancy Cingranelli (Bill), and Lisa Quick (Roger); a brother, George Guelfi; brother-in-law, David Losowski; four precious grandchildren, Josslyn, Joshua Jr. "JJ", Kaelynn, and Aaron; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by a sister, Lori Losowski; a brother, Joseph Guelfi; and a brother-in-law, Richard Fiorini.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, December 4th at 11:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Church, 210 E. Dominick St., Rome NY 13440. Interment will take place in Evergreen Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to call at St. John's prior to Mass from 10-11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Barb's memory to the Ronald McDonald House, 26345 Network Place, Chicago, IL 60673-1263.
