Betty Colon Obituary
Born on June 19, 1951, she was a daughter of Walter Blue and Elouise Johnson. Betty Jean was educated at RFA. Following high school, Betty had a career with DDSO, as a Direct Service Assistant; she was a faithful employee for 34 years. Betty was a member of Mount Calvary Baptist Church and enjoyed Sunday services and fellowshipping with her friends there. She was a dedicated and proud mother and grandmother; she enjoyed time spent with family and friends and was a kind and caring soul who will be missed by many.
Betty is survived by her daughter, Anya Colon; granddaughter, Sky Colon; sisters, Verona Mitchell and Venetta Allen; and ex-husband, Jose E. Colon.
She was predeceased by her son, Rafeal Colon; brother, Gonzalez Blue; brother-in-law, Will Mitchell; parents, Walter Blue and Elouise Johnson; and adopted-father, Willie Johnson.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2024 from 12-2 PM at Strong-Burns & Sprock Funeral Home, 7751 Merrick Road, Rome. A Funeral Service will follow, immediately, with Rev. Tommy Ray Jackson officiating.
