Frances Walter Obituary
Frances was born in Boonville, on April 16, 1935, to the late Dean and Frances Hess Lahah. Frances graduated from Boonville Central School and worked at various offices in Lewis and Oneida Counties and retired from St. Luke's Memorial Hospital. Frances was united in marriage to James Walter in 1980.
She is survived by two sons, Kenneth (Valorie) Newvine and Kevin (Elaine) Newvine; four grandchildren: Melissa, Kenneth Jr., Skyler and Courtney Newvine; and great-grandson, Ian Fruin and Brooklyn Booker whom she loved as her own. Also surviving are her brother, Carlton Lahah; and many nieces and nephews who she loved deeply. Through her marriage she was also survived by Kyle (Deanne) Walter and Andrea (Jim) Moore; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a brother, Levere Lahah; and stepdaughter, Suzanne Brand.
Frances enjoyed watching and attending sporting events with her husband, friends and family, especially SU College Football games and the Detroit Tigers Baseball games.
Her Funeral Service will be on Thursday, August 14, 2025, at 1 p.m. at Trainor Funeral Home, Inc., 143 Schuyler St., Boonville, where calling hours will be on Thursday, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Interment will follow in Prospect Cemetery. Following the funeral service, all are invited to attend a luncheon at the Boonville Elks Lodge, State Rt. 12, Boonville.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc., 4277 Middle Settlement Rd., New Hartford, NY 13413 or to a local humane society of your choice.
