Germaine Lefevre

Germain Mead Lefevre, 91, of Forestport, NY, passed away on November 29, 2025. Germaine was born on April 29, 1934, the daughter of George and Eleanor (Kaminska) Mead. She graduated from Rome Free Academy in 1952. On January 24, 1953, she married the love of her life, Ivan J. Lefevre, in St. Mary's of the Assumption Church in Rome, NY, a happy union of 70 years. She was employed in the early years by Dr Harry Sinclair as a dental assistant and in her later years by Resident Shoppers Service. She truly enjoyed helping nursing home residents purchase their clothing.

Ivan and Germaine purchased a home in Frostproof, FL, in 2004, where they spent their winters and met many new friends. In 2008 they sold their home in Rome and moved to their lakefront home on Kayuta Lake in Forestport.

Germaine was an avid NASCAR Cup fan and went to the 60 Daytona 500's with Ivan from 1960-2020. She was a member of St. Peter's Church.

Surviving are three beloved daughters, Debora (Craig) Tuttle, Denise (Gicamino "Jake") DeCarolis, and Kathy Jo Britton; daughter-in-law, Linda Beckley Lefevre; her precious grandchildren, Jason (Lindsey) Lefevre, Jennifer (David) Gondek, Kara (Gery) Guy, Heather (Cory) Roberts, Gicamino "Jocko" (Katie) DeCarolis, and Tyler Britton; and eleven very enjoyable great-grandchildren who she loved dearly and kept her busy enjoying their sports and all the other activities they were involved in, Thomas, Peyton, Alexis, Ava, Ellie, Abby, Elsa, Ivan, Brody, Kegan, and Remington. She is also survived by a sister-in-law and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Ivan; son Ivan "Rick"; granddaughter, Joelle Marie Lefevre; son-in-law, John J. Britton; and brothers, George, Gerald, and Gary Mead.

Family and friends are invited to call at Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc. 418 N. George St., Rome NY 13440, on Saturday, December 13th, from 3-5:00 p.m. with a service to follow at 5:00 p.m.
