Karen A. Carletta

1957 - 2025

Karen A. Carletta, age 68, of the Town of Floyd, passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side on October 13, 2025.

She was born July 1, 1957, in Rome to the late Bruce and Shirley Clark Lyman and educated in the Westmoreland schools. Karen was united in marriage to Frank Carletta on July 23, 1988. She retired from Rome DDSO after 35 plus years. She was a member of Saint Peter's Parish, and an active member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 24.

Karen was an avid gardener. Her backyard gardens reflected her love of nature and birds, in particular hummingbirds. She also enjoyed camping, often spending weekends with family and friends at Stysh's Brown Barn Campgrounds. As a seamstress, Karen shared her talent by lovingly making quilts for her family and friends to enjoy. She also had a lifelong interest in crafting; whether it was quilling, felting, cross stitch or painting, her work was always beautiful. She also enjoyed trying new recipes to enhance her cooking. In her retirement, she enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family.

Karen is survived by her husband of 37 years, Frank; daughter, Stacey Lyman of Boonville and her partner, Andrew Cullop; grandchildren, Zach Flanagan, Kyle West, and Samantha and Matthew Stanford all of Boonville; four great-grandchildren; her sisters and brothers-in-law, Katrina and Brian Webb, and Kelley and Paul Powers; her brother and sister-in-law, Keith and Becky Lyman; her longtime friend, Marilyn Hayes; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, October 20, at St. Peter's Church, at 11 AM. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
