Lucia "Lucy" Gleba

VICTOR – Lucia "Lucy" (Daniello) Gleba, age 89, formerly of Rome, NY, passed away peacefully after a long illness, on Friday, August 30, 2024. She is survived by three children, Jeffrey Gleba (Dr. Michael Oros), Lauren Burns and Tracy (Brian) Majczak; grandson, Adam (Shelby) Burns; four siblings, Francis Daniello, Sarah Ramsay, Virginia Spina and Linda (Richard) Marocchi; brother-in-law, Richard Keyes; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband, Ronald Gleba in 2015; four brothers, Louis Daniello, Peter Daniello, Nick Daniello and Gene Daniello; four sisters, Rose Spadafora, Anna Thomas, Margaret "Peggy" Daniello and Joanna Daniello; son-in-law, Jeffrey Burns; sisters-in-law, Nina Daniello, Jennie Daniello, Marsha Keyes, Donna Daniello and Patti Daniello; brothers-in-law, Foster "Mac" Spadafora, Spencer Ramsay and Louis Spina.

Lucy was born in Rome, NY, and was the daughter of Nicholas and Francesca (Piccola) Daniello. She was a graduate of Rome Free Academy, class of 1953. Lucy worked at Rome Hospital until marrying the love of her life Ronald in 1956. After numerous years of raising her first two children, Jeffrey and Lauren, Lucy opened the Fabric Forte', a retail store in downtown Rome. Next came her third child, Tracy.

Lucy's family would like to extend special thanks for the staff at Victor Views Assisted Living for the loving care over the last 3 years. They would also like to thank the loving staff in the Skilled Transitional Unit at M.M. Ewing Continuing Care Center.

Her memorial mass will be celebrated Friday, September 6, at 11 a.m., at St. Mary's Church, 95 N. Main St., Canandaigua.
