Margaret Love Obituary

UTICA - Margaret "Peggy" (Reed) Love, age 69, was reunited with her husband, Dennis, in Heaven, when she passed away, unexpectedly, on Wednesday, January 1, 2025.

Born in Elizabeth, NJ, on December 12, 1955, Margaret was the daughter of Artelia (Graham) Reed and the late James Reed. She attended local schools in Union, NJ. While residing in New Jersey, Peggy met Dennis Love and the two began a relationship and made a home together. In 1988, they sold their home and moved to Utica. She and Dennis were married shortly thereafter on August 25, 1989. The couple joyously shared over 30 years together prior to Dennis' passing on January 29, 2020.

Peggy held employment, for over 30 years, with The Neighborhood Center, Inc., as a Case Worker and would often lead the group discussions. Her heartfelt care and compassion for others made the position a great fit and she was able to enrich the lives of many members of her community through her work.

Peggy was a genuine, loving woman, who, at times, could be outspoken, but it was only done with the best of intentions. She was honest to a fault, but it was her caring heart that was felt by all who knew her.

Peggy shared many enjoyable moments with friends and family playing cards or Dominoes. Her loyal dog, Jack, was always by her side.

Peggy is survived by her mother, Artelia; her children and their loves, Danyell and Kevin Scott, Sr. and Jerome Reed and Patricia Adams; eleven grandchildren, Jakayla, Kevin, Jr., Jayda, Daniel, Xavier, Andrew, Nicholas, Sydney, Gabriella, Deasia and Dominiqué; her beloved brothers and sisters; and many nieces, nephews and their families. Peggy also leaves to cherish her memory many close friends, especially acknowledging Homer "Ballback" Harris, Maureen Taylor and Katherine Jones-Voorhees.

For those wishing to do so, please consider memorial contributions, in Peggy's honor, to Disabled American Veterans (DAV) online at www.dav.org/donate.

In honoring Peggy's wishes, there will be no public services.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave., Utica. Fond memories and messages of encouragement may be shared at www.EannaceFuneralHome.com.

You will be missed for your unfiltered opinion and honesty. I remember you as quick witted and good for many laughs. You enjoyed the retirement life, family and your beloved dog (Jack). You went above and beyond to help your mother, Artelia and baby sister, Donna. May you rest in power and peace...

Was a very good Christian for being honest and having a very good heart.

Peggy was very instrumental in supporting me and helping me overcome fears and to pursue my dreams. She showed me what unconditional love in a marriage meant. Richard and I will always remember how she would go out of her way to make you feel loved.
