Mary Ann Calidonna Obituary

Mary Ann E. Calidonna, 84, of Rome, NY, passed away on November 28, 2025, peacefully in her home. Born in Philadelphia, PA, on January 15, 1941, she was the daughter of Joseph Grande and Helen DiMaio Grande. She was a graduate of MVCC and was employed by Revere Copper in Rome as a Key Punch Operator, she was also a gifted seamstress. Mary Ann was united in marriage to Frank Calidonna with whom she shared a blessed marriage and full life.

Mary Ann was very proud of the life she and Frank built together; she was a loving mother and beloved grandmother. She took pride in her children's accomplishments and enjoyed watching each one create their own life.

Mary Ann was a true animal lover; she especially loved cats and rescued many cats and kittens who needed a soft place to land. She enjoyed sitting down to read a good book or watching a Hallmark movie or watching endless tennis matches. She enjoyed her family and the time that she spent with them.

Mary Ann is survived by her husband of 63 years, Frank Calidonna; her children, Richard (Theresa) Calidonna, Clare (Joseph) Mucha, and Rebecca (Mark) Brown; grandchildren, Lt. Colonel Joseph and Antonia Rose Calidonna, Matthew Brown, Salvatore (Desiree) Costello, Kayla Costello (Jesus Garcia), Emily Mucha (Steven Rogers), Billy Mucha (Justin Dihn); great-grandchildren, Nym and Obie Costello.
