Michael Potocki Obituary

Michael J. Potocki, of Westmoreland, NY, passed away peacefully on March 24, 2023, with his loving wife by his side after a brave battle with cancer.

Born in Utica, NY, on January 6, 1946, he was the son of the late Theodore and Regina (Lubowicki) Potocki.

Mike was educated in Rome and Westmoreland School Districts, and proudly served in the United States Navy aboard the aircraft carrier USS WASP, which was the prime recovery ship for NASA Gemini space missions.

In 1966 he was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart, Christine Goodwin, sharing a loving 56 year relationship.

Mike was employed at Oneida Limited Silversmiths for 36 years, earning the title of Superintendent of Manufacturing, retiring in 2004.

Surviving besides his loving wife, Chris, are two sons, Michael and his wife Angie of Texas and Bradley of Sherrill, NY; three grandsons, Brandon (Kiersten), Justin and Tyler Potocki; as well as a great-grandson, Nashton Potocki. Mike was blessed to have many special friends and extended family in his life, including his shih tzu, Ming-Ti.

A memorial mass will be held on Tuesday, April 18th at 12:00 p.m. at Transfiguration Church. In keeping with Mike's wishes, there will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Mike's memory to the Abraham House of Rome or Faxton Cancer Center in Utica, where we extend a special appreciation for the care Mike received.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc. 418 N. George St., Rome NY 13440.
