Patricia Smith Obituary
Patricia A. Smith, 94, of Rome, passed away, peacefully, with her loving family by her side, on Thursday, August 15, 2024, at Bethany Gardens Skilled Living Center.
She was born in Rome, NY, on June 19, 1930, daughter of the late Michael and Myrtle Burns Rossi. Pat was a graduate of Rome Free Academy. On June 24, 1950, she married the late Howard N. "Dutch" Smith, in St. Mary's Church. He passed away on November 1, 2019. Pat worked, as a retail clerk, at the former Rosen's Men's Wear, in downtown Rome.
She was an avid golfer and a member of the original Beaver Brook Golf Course, as well as Rome Country Club. Pat loved Bingo and enjoyed trips to the Turning Stone Casino to play.
Surviving is a son, Michael J. (Peggy) Smith; two daughters, Christine M. (James) Malone and Linda A. Smith; one grandchild, Colin Smith (Josie), all of Rome; sister-in-law, Doris Smith, Oneonta; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a daughter, Debra M. Smith, who passed away in 2012; a son, Howard N. Smith Jr. who passed away in 2018; parents, Michael and Myrtle Rossi; and a brother, Michael Rossi.
Services will be private. There are no calling hours. Burial will be in St. John the Baptist Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made, in Pat's name, to Bethany Gardens Activities Fund, 800 W. Chestnut St., Rome, NY 13440.

Linda, Michael, Chris and Colin, I´m thinking of you and my heart goes out to you for the loss of your Mom and Grandma. So many years have passed and so many memories come to mind. Too many to recount but cherished times that will never be lost or forgotten. Our years together have turned friendships into family and for that I´m truly blessed. My love is always with you and know I´m always here when you need me.
