Richard Bottini Obituary

Richard Michael Bottini 87, of Rome, passed away on Thursday, January 23, 2025 in Florida with his loving family by his side.

He was born on December 2, 1937 and was the son of "Brush" and Rose (Mulga) Bottini. On April 25, 1959 he married the love of his life, Grace Vecchio. Richard worked at DFAS at Griffiss Air Force Base until his retirement in1993. Richard loved life and enjoyed golfing, cooking, his "garage" and spending time with family and friends. He was a member of the Galliano Club, Toccolana Club and the Musical Club.

Richard is survived by his loving wife Grace; his daughter Tina and husband Ardeshir Ebrahimi, daughter Mary Jo and husband Bryan Thompson and their son Ronan, son Richard and his wife Beth, and their sons Bryson (Katie) and Bailey (Taylor) as well as Bryson's sons Luca and Theo, son Carmen Bottini and his step-children Krystle Cole and Kyle Cole. Also survived by his sisters Virginia Miller and Lucille Bostwick. He is deceased by his sister Gilda Verdgeline as well as deceased brothers and spouses "Buzz" (Kathy) and Ben (Judy), brother-in-Law Conse Vecchio (Gloria) and sister-in-law Rosetta Bottini. Richard had many cousins, nieces and nephews who he cherished as well.

Richard adored his 3 grandsons Bryson, Bailey and Ronan and enjoyed every moment he spent with them. He also was blessed to spend time with his 2 great-grandsons Luca and Theo.

Richard had countless friends that he loved to be around such as Joe, Lou, Fran and Bernie but there are many more. You all enriched his life with love and laughter.

Funeral services will be celebrated with a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, February 3, 2025, at 11:30 am at St. John the Baptist Church, 210 E. Dominick Street, Rome with the Rev. Paul F. Angelicchio as Celebrant. Calling hours will be held from 10:00 am - 11:30am prior to the mass. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery in the spring.

Please omit flowers. Please make donations to St. John the Baptist Church Memorial Fund or to St. Jude's in Richard's memory. Envelopes will be available at the church. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Bottini Funeral Home, 120 W. Embargo Street.
