Robert A. Pisano

1938 - 2023

Robert A. Pisano, age 84, of Rome, passed away peacefully on March 5, 2023, at Novant Health Medical Center, Matthews NC.

He was born July 27, 1938, in Utica, the son of the late John V. Pisano and Carmella A. Spado Merola. Bob married the former Maxine Kelly, on August 30, 1958, in Charleston, SC; a blessed union of 63 years until her passing on December 7, 2021. He was a USAF veteran, firefighter, small business owner, and NY State employee during his life.

Robert was an active man who enjoyed learning and pursuing knowledge in multiple areas. Family was very important to him, and he always was there to aid in any time of need. He was a member of the American Legion and St. Paul's Church in Rome.

Bob is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Robert A. Jr. and Patricia A. Pisano of Indian Trail, NC; two daughters and a son-in-law, Tina M. and James A. Gaffney of Whitesboro, and Carmella A. Pisano of Rome; one sister and brother-in-law, Joyce and Robert Schrenker of FL; five grandchildren; Alycia M. (Michael) Sullivan, Brittany L. Church, John V. Pisano, Ashley N. Church, and Jennifer N. (Tomos) Aponte; and three great grandchildren, Jayden, Angelo, and Michael.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, May 11, at 11AM, at St. John's Cemetery.

There are no calling hours.

In lieu of flowers, family suggests donations to the Ronald McDonald House.
