"Imagination"

Written by Shelly Quinn

I am the image in the mirror

Laughing and dancing but full of fear.

I am the singer, not the song

The melody of a future dawn.

I am the heart that beats in rhyme

A footstep lost in the sands of time.

I am the child full of dreams

All of them trapped by reality.

I am the shadows in the night

Dancing silhouettes of silver light.

I am the lover in disguise

The soul, eternal, that slowly dies.

I am the wind that guides the storm

When seasons change I begin to mourn.

I am the tears a loser cries

When all of the hope turns into lies.

I am the voice inside your head

but no one listens to what I've said.

I am the future, not the past

Yesterday's promise that could not last.
