Steven William "Bill" Hulbert
Holland Patent, NY
It is with great sadness and heartbreak that on June 4, 2024, we let go of the hand of our loving husband, son, father, stepfather, grandfather, and great grandfather, "Bill" Steven William Hulbert with his family by his side and released him into the loving and merciful arms of the Lord God, where he is at peace and sits with the army of angels that watch over all of us.
He was born on January 23, 1959, and was the "bouncing baby boy" and the pride and joy of his mother Nancy S. King and father, whom he was met by in heaven, Glenn P. King. He was a dedicated, loving, and honorable son.
Bill worked as a service technician for 45 years for Ford and most recently Subaru.
He met and married his life partner and soulmate Michelle in 2007 and together they created a beautiful and blessed blended family. They shared many beautiful moments full of laughter, love, and blessings. Their love was honest and true and was ageless, timeless, and endless. Michelle could often be heard referring to Bill as her "greatest reward in life". Their blended family brought together six children, William Hulbert (Chelsea), Tammi Schumacher (George), Nancy Hulbert, Glenn Hulbert (Erin). He may have been a stepfather to Lindsey Van den Dungen (Sven), and Bryan Jester but he was "Dad" in every way possible. Bill worked tirelessly to give his children all they needed and taught them about strength, integrity, and values. He was proud when they grew up to be good, kind, moral, and loving adults. He was most happy, though, when they each found their own way and their true happiness. He left a legacy for all of them that will go on for generations to come.
There were many grandchildren that blessed our lives and many more brought into the family fold through the joyous partnerships that the children shared. He loved the gifts of each grandchild and great grandchild. Taylor Christopher (Mark) and Morgan Durrani lived with him, and he cared for them, and he provided a loving and stable home and cherished memories for them their entire lives. Damion Hulbert, Chasity Hulbert (Taliq), Margaret Hulbert, Mason Hulbert, Greyson Van den Dungen, Adalind Van den Dungen, Lauren Schumacher (John), Kathryn Everhart (Justin), Jack Hull, Davis Hull, and Lily Hull. Great Grandchildren, Atlas Starks, Colton Everhart, Kacey Everhart, we are also anxiously awaiting the arrival of two more great-grandchildren, Waylon and baby Starks.
Bill loved to cook and was a true green thumb gardener and was an avid sports fan He enjoyed golf, football, hockey, baseball, and he shared a passion for NASCAR with his mother. He coached football for many years with the Newfield Schools and influenced the lives of many young men. He was a big fan of the Jets but his most favorite was the University of Alabama College Football team. He was blessed by a gift from his daughter Tammi in 2023 and attended the Iron Bowl in Alabama with his sons William and Glenn and they shared a once in a lifetime experience and made wonderful memories. ROLL TIDE!
Bill's life was enriched by many special friends who touched his life and shared wonderful memories. He always believed himself to be blessed and it is impossible to list them here, but you all know who you are and what you brought to our lives and the gift of all of you was a gift of a lifetime. Remember him every day with that in mind and know that you were all a very special part of his life.
Friends and family are invited to attend visitation from 4:00 to 5:30 pm on Friday June 14, 2024, at the Dimbleby Funeral Homs Inc 40 Main Street in Whitesboro, NY with a memorial service to follow at 5:30 pm.
Please consider donations to the
American Cancer Society or The Abraham House for whom we are eternally grateful for the loving care they provide to Bill. Please also consider planting a perennial flower in Bill's honor. Bill was never a man of pomp and circumstance so if you own Alabama or Jet's attire, please wear it when you come to say good-bye.
