Sylvia Burk Obituary
Sylvia worked was bus monitor at Birnie Bus Co. for over 30 years. She loved to go to camp with her husband, sit out by the campfire and have her coffee.
She is survived by two sisters, Peggy Gebo (David) and Viola Turner; two brothers, Edwin Turner, Jr. (Shirley) and Timothy Turner (Maureen); sister-in-law, Susan Turner; several nieces, nephews, cousins and her beloved cat, Pepper. She was predeceased by a sister, Janet Bleyer; and brother, Terry Turner.
Sylvia's family would like to thank her caregivers, Chris and Alicia Smith, and the staff of ICU at Rome Health, especially Tina and Ashley, for their wonderful care and compassion.
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at Evergreen Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George St., Rome, NY 13440.

I am so sorry to see Sylvia has passed I remember riding on the school bus with Sylvia Peggy and viola and all the fun we use to have we had to because it was a 45 minute ride. May God help y'all threw it I'm in Greensboro NC now but often think of my old friends from the neighborhood so long ago love to all the family gone but never forgotten. Skip Hyde

My deepest condolences to the family of, Sylvia!
I met Sylvia while working at Birnie Bus. She was always very friendly, and sweet! I was shocked to see this obituary. She always had a smile. I thought of her often, along with her husband, Stan.
RIP, my friend!! You will never be forgotten!
