Wanda Kokocinski Obituary
Born on July 28, 1931, in Gocklingen, Germany, Wanda was the daughter of Pauline and Eugen Mathes.
On Oct 16, 1954, Wanda married Frank Kokocinski, in Germany, sharing a blessed union of over 65 years. Following the end of WWII, Frank and Wanda immigrated to the United States, placing roots in Utica, NY, where they resided for over 60 years.
Wanda worked as an assembly worker at Mele Manufacturing in Utica. In her retirement, Wanda loved gardening, cooking, and baking her well-known German and Polish dishes, and spending time with her beloved grandchildren. Wanda also enjoyed worldwide traveling, often cruising to the Caribbean and Hawaii and visiting relatives in Germany and Poland.
Wanda was predeceased by Frank in 2020. Surviving are her daughter, Anita (John) Fuller, their son, Frank (Holly) and children, Ava, Reese, Matthew and Emery; her daughter, Irena (Andrew) Manolescu, their daughter, Nicole (Brian) Stalnaker and their children, Will, Adler, and Klara, and their son, Luke (Danielle) Manolescu, and their children, Evelyn and Lily. Wanda also leaves a special nephew, Alex (Laureen) Bos, of WI, along with brothers and sisters in Germany and nieces and nephews in Poland.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated on Thursday, August 28th, at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Utica. The family will receive guests following the Mass. Wanda will be interred in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Yorkville, where she will rejoin her beloved Frank.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances in Wanda's name may be made to the Good News Foundation. Envelopes will be available at the Mass ( or online at www.thegoodnewscenter.org )
Wanda's family would like to thank all the staff at Eastern Star Nursing Facility, along with Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc. for their love, care, and support throughout this difficult time.
