EILEEN RITCHIE Obituary
EILEEN M. RITCHIE (nee Kilroy) age 73, died peacefully at home in company of loved ones on Saturday, September 13, 2025. Beloved wife of James; dear mother of Sean Sarnecki; step-mother of Stacey Sarnecki, Jennifer Rice (William), Lisa Previts (Matthew) and Michael Ritchie (Katherine); grandmother of Abigail, Evelyn, Caleb, William, Clara and Vivian; daughter of the late Dr. Edward and Phyllis Kilroy; sister of Dr. Terence Kilroy (Dr. Millee Mervart).
Eileen pursued a nursing career and her talents were recognized through the award of undergraduate and graduate level scholarships at The University Chicago, Georgetown, Case Western Reserve University and later at Ursuline College to obtain her N.P. License. Eileen dedicated her life to others and will now receive her reward in Heaven with family that has preceded her.
Funeral Mass Thursday, September 18, Immaculate Conception Church (37932 Euclid Ave. Willoughby, OH) at 10:00 AM. PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4-7 PM on Wednesday, September 17, 2025 at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Avenue, Willoughby.
In lieu of flowers contributions to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 https://www.stjude.org/ or to a charity of your choice would be appreciated.

Eileen was my first cousin and my biggest cheerleader. For 10 years Eileen was the only girl cousin in a wonderful family full of boys. She would ALWAYS remind me how loved I was when I came along. Eileen was there when I had my first baby Jessica and was so much support for myself and my family. I will miss you deeply my beautiful cousin. We will pray for you Jim And your family who had the greatest honor of knowing and loving Eileen. And for you Sean, your Mom loved you so much. I’m so very sad I can’t make it for the funeral. God Bless.

Jim May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow. Eileen will always hold a special place in my heart. We worked together in Monfiore hospice and she was not only a colleague but a friend, even when I moved to Alabama we kept in touch and I loved hearing how the family was and she always shared pictures of her beautiful grandchildren.

Eileen was Katie’s sweet step-mother-in-law. I cherish the memories I have of my own mother-in-law, so blessed to have had two incredible “moms” in my life. I feel the same for my daughter who married into a very special family. She never had the privilege of knowing Mike’s mom, but she was so blessed to have had time, though way too short, with Eileen. Eileen’s love language was definitely giving and her giving knew no bounds! I pray the memory of her infectious smile will always bring those who loved her comfort.
